for a homeless shelter for women and children in Chicago

Do
you want to make a difference?
Let us suggest to you a project for your Women's Ministry, Sunday school,
youth group, or entire church. Together with Jesus People USA in Chicago,
a Christian community and member of the Evangelical Covenant Church,
have created "Safe Essentials" providing homeless individuals with necessary
supplies, kept in his or her name, for as long as they need them.
- Women
-
blanket, pillow, pillowcase, sheets, towels, wash cloth, soap, shampoo,
toothpaste, deodorant, underwear, sanitary pads, socks.
- Children
-
crayons, coloring books, children's scissors, construction paper,
toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, washcloth, pencils, drawing pads, stretch
gloves.
- Babies
-
baby bottles, Enfamil formula with iron, bottle brush, generic diapers,
(small or medium), baby shampoo, baby powder, Desitin or equivalent,
baby towel/washcloth.
Instructions
for shipping:
1. The above items are the most needed items requested, but feel free
to be creative.
Please include check to cover the cost of the container ($8.00 woman,
$3.00 child or baby).
JPUSA staff will purchase the container with your donation.
2. Pack items for each category in a sturdy box, include contents lists
and a check for each container you wish to fill.
3. On outside, label: For Women Ministries of the ECC Project "Safe
Essentials"
