Medical Supplies Is
there still an ongoing need for rolled bandages? The Ministry of rolling bandages remains crucial. After a recent analysis of Congo Medical Ministries, it was concluded the we are indeed called to continue ministering in this way to our brothers and sisters in Congo. The value of one shipment of bandages and other supplies ranged from $120,000 to $192.000 for the Congo Medical teams. If these were to be purchased commercially, they would be gauze type bandages that could only be used once. Furthermore, purchasing bandages would divert funds that are badly needed for medicines. The hospitals are eager for cotton bandage strips that can be sterilized and reused again and again. While visiting her missionary children Galen and Jill Johnson, Corrine Johnson, described the scene when a precious shipment of bandages arrived: "...all hospital personnel at Karawa Hospital were as excited as if they had received a load of gold. Everyone helped unload the truck and stacked the container-full of bandages into storage areas to be divided and distributed..." The ministry of rolling bandages enables medical work in the Congo to continue. For almost 79 years the women of the Covenant have rolled bandages and stitched layettes. There is still a dire need for those rolled bandages! It is imperative that this ministry continues. Specifications
